How To Boost Your Body Confidence and Boot Your Insecurities

Confidence isn’t a skill or quality that you are born with. That seems obvious, but sometimes it does feel like confident people just pop out of the womb that way. But confidence is actually something that you can learn, nurture, and develop. And once you feel confident on the inside, you can exude confidence on the outside.

It’s completely normal to feel insecure in a world that promotes body positivity yet applauds perfection. However, we can let you in on a little secret—nobody is perfect, and everybody has insecurities.

We can all benefit from a good confidence boost every once in a while, so it’s time to boot your insecurities and focus on the positive.


Recognise That Everyone Has Their Own Insecurities

It may be hard to believe, but even the most confident person you know will have moments of self-doubt. Nobody is going to feel amazing all the time. Once you accept that insecurities are part of everyone’s life and will pop up from time to time, you minimise their importance.

Rather than zeroing in on the things you don’t like about yourself, focus on things you do love about yourself. Practice saying these out loud, even if it feels silly.


Make Time to Make Yourself Feel Good

Clear some time out of your busy schedule to focus on yourself. We are constantly juggling responsibilities like stressed-out little circus clowns, and it’s important to take some time to do things that give you joy.

Try out different hobbies and find one that makes you feel great. This can be something creative like pottery, something physical like running, or even something spiritual like writing down your affirmations. It's never too late or too hard to find your Thing. Feeling good at something, or simply enjoying something, does wonders for self-confidence.


Don’t Put Yourself Down, Treat Yourself Instead

For some strange reason, we find it easier to put ourselves down than we do to lift ourselves up. This is the type of mentality we need to banish. Negativity, be gone!

We are all worthy of love and happiness. Don’t be afraid to give yourself the day off if you need to, take yourself out for dinner, or even treat yourself to a new lingerie set to lift yourself (or your boobs) up. Money can't buy happiness, but it's important to remember you're worth being treated!


Take Each Day as It Comes

Some days you might feel ready for world domination, and others you just feel like hiding under the covers and binge-watching Netflix. It doesn't matter, because un-productivity is a myth. Time spent listening to your body and your spirit is always time well spent.

So, whatever you do, don’t worry. If your day unravels from the moment you spill your latte all over your car, take a deep breath and tell yourself there's always tomorrow. Confidence is a trait you can slowly build up. To be confident, you have to nurture your mind, your body, and most importantly, your soul.

Don’t let anyone dictate what standards you have to hold for yourself. Especially in the beauty industry! You don't need an intensive six-month exercise regime to get a bikini body. A bikini body is just.. a body, any body, in a bikini (and ideally, one on the beach with a margarita in hand).

It’s time you live life for yourself, not for others. That's what confidence is! Being on good terms with yourself first, before anyone else
